#100 What It's Like Working With Me - with Erika Cramer

What it's like working with me - Erika Cramer

I know that a lot of business owners are interested to know what it’s really like working with me. So today I’m joined by a beautiful client of mine who doesn't hold back and tells it how it is. Who better to share an honest review of what it’s like working with me than Erika Cramer, the Queen of Confidence.

Erika is a confidence coach, business mentor, author, speaker and passionate about empowering women to be all they can be. In this episode, Erika shares her experience working with me from one woman in business to another

Prior to working with me, Erika had experience with another lawyer but she shares how it was purely transactional, as opposed to a collaborative relationship. She shares how working with me made her feel listened to and nurtured in a way that wouldn’t be expected from a lawyer.

Many business owners put off doing their legals until it’s too late. Erika’s advice to other women in business who might be unsure is to stop waiting. No matter what your vision is for your business, you’re here to make an impact in the world. And if you’re not legally protected, your legacy is being exposed.

Don’t wait until something horrible happens because as I always say, prevention is better than cure. So if you’ve been putting off getting your legals in order or you’ve been wary of engaging with a lawyer, now is the time to reach out. Erika talks about the incredible peace of mind she experienced knowing that she was protected and her business was set up for the future.

Hello, everyone. Welcome back to the rise up in business podcast. Thank you for joining me for this episode, I want to share with you today firsthand what it's like working with me, I share so much value on this podcast, and I really try to deliver what it is that I know is important for business owners. But one question that I know business owners have is, what's it actually like working with Tracy? Is she all the things? Should I work with her? How do I know all of those things? In today's episode, I'm joined by a beautiful client of mine who doesn't hold back. And the reason I wanted to bring Erika on is because she doesn't hold back and she tells it how it is. So if anybody's going to be honest, it is going to be Erika Cramer, the queen of confidence. Erika, welcome. Thank you so much for joining me on this episode of the podcast.

    Erika Cramer 01:13

I am so excited to be on your podcast Tracy.

    Tracey Mylecharane 01:16

I'm so happy to have you. People know that we get along really well when we have such a beautiful connection. And I'm so grateful that you're going to share some time today with us because I want to share with my listeners. What is it like working with me? How do you find it? Tell us what it's been like for you.

    Erika Cramer 01:34

Oh my gosh. So first of all, I always say I love you. Because I really do. I'm so grateful that we met. When I first met you I just instantly you know, when you meet someone and you just vibe with them. We just had a very beautiful zoom, instant connection. And when I find out what you did, I was like what this woman is a lawyer is a solicitor and she helps business women. And she's a woman she understands me. And we just had a really beautiful chat and I just felt really listened to really heard really understood.

    Erika Cramer 02:03

I also love that when you think about a lawyer, and we've talked about this before you think like they're gonna be scary, or standoffish or take you for a ride. And it's kind of like a mechanic, you know, you're like, how much is just talking to you going to cost me you know, like, you just get a little bit nervous because of the industry. And so I just found speaking to you was so amazing and nurturing and you broke things down. And you didn't do it because you thought I didn't understand you just talked normal. And I understood everything you said. And so it was really nice. It was really refreshing. And then obviously when we got to talking and chatting about, you know what I'm doing and what I want to build, I just felt like you completely understood the journey that we were on. And as soon as I shared that what we needed. So it was like you could see 10 steps ahead. And you know, there's not many people that can see my vision, nevermind, be 10 steps ahead of me with me.

    Erika Cramer 02:58

And I love I remember you said to me like, Alright, so what are we building here like in this big legacy in the future, and it was like, Alright, since we're going there, you were ready, and you weren't kind of like, you're not going to be able to do that or don't be silly or be realistic, you know, is really awesome. So the initial experience was really just beautiful to meet another woman in business, who gets me who understands me, and also speaks the language that I can understand and is able to go big vision with me and set things up in our business legally for future. So maybe right now we're not there, but we're building our business for when we get there. We're already ready to go. So what a manifestation of success. You know,

    Tracey Mylecharane 03:38

I love that. This makes me so happy to hear and what I love about what so many things I love about working with you. But you listen, and you're open to what I've got to say. And I love that which is why one of the many reasons why it works so well. But working with me wasn't your first time working with a lawyer because you've worked with a lawyer before.

    Erika Cramer 04:01

    Yes,

    Tracey Mylecharane 04:01

And this is very different than I know this is very different. This is more of a collaboration, wouldn't you say between the two of us and it's like a team approach?

    Erika Cramer 04:09

Yeah, I feel like it's definitely a co creation because I bounce things off with you I can I can message you and be like hey, so I'm thinking these are email you and think about an idea and I really believe that you're a part of the process. It's a very similar relationship I have with my amazing like graphic designer, you know, I don't create things without her I don't make up it. I really include the people that I work with. I ended up becoming like a little part of the TQOC family. And so I felt that straight away with you like alright, let's bounce this idea off. Tracy what do we think about her? What is she going to say? And and you know, I know that you know your stuff like your background and litigation and all the years of experience and having your own business and then the amazing powerhouse women that you represent and work with who I was working with before. I'm sure that the terms they had covered me in some aspect, but it was very copy and paste. It was very like transactional versus relational. And I hate doing transactional stuff because I'm very loyal. I fell in love with the people I want to work with. And I want to work with them forever. I don't like jumping around very like that in my relationship as well as like, let's just get married and have babies Hamish. I tell you what I feel straight away. I'm not like a games playing person or a grass is greener and like, the grass is greener where you water it like let's build this relationship. And so I didn't feel excited or motivated or empowered with the lawyer that I had. It was like, I think this is okay, man, I don't know, but with you is like, Oh, wow, this is a deep dive. And we're colouring our world with how we want it to look. And I'm involved of the process. And I can have something to say, and we can bounce back and forth. And I think that that's important when you are creating a business that you want to be long lasting, and you want a legacy. It just helps to that we work with women, you are a woman, women owned business, a team of women behind you, and you just get it we have a way of understanding what we're here to do. Unfortunately, there's so many women in the industry that we're all in that use the masculine like a toxic, masculine way. So like we're dealing with women, but we're doing it in a way that men do it. And it's like, that doesn't make sense. So you know, we have that nurturer in a beautiful, how we work together and you understand what we're trying to do. And I didn't have that before. And I know I could have that.

    Tracey Mylecharane 06:20

I love that. And I'm so glad that you feel like you have that. Now that's so important to me, if there are women listening to this, who have been putting off reaching out or putting off the legals or working with a lawyer because they think, oh, it's either not important, or I don't really want to work with a lawyer because they're dull and dry. And this is just not what I really want to do. What do you have to say to those women? Now because we're in the beginning of a new year, so what do you say to those women?

    Erika Cramer 06:46

I think that we're how we used to do business needs to change. I think that the two things and we've talked about this Tracy's been on my podcast. So if you're listening to this, make sure you go head to mine and listen to me and Tracy chatting in depth about this. I think the two things that really upset me about us as business women is we don't get our money right. And we don't get our legals right. And it's like stuff we don't think about oh, no big deal until you need it. And so what I would say is Stop waiting, really step into the vision, no matter how big or small your legacy is, you're here to do something in the world that's important in your business. And if you're not protecting your impact, legally, you're literally being exposed, there are so many things. And we always wait until these bad things happen to one client fights our terms and conditions, you know, and yes, it's a beautiful lesson. But I'm like, you don't need to wait for that. If you've been thinking about doing this reach out, get it sorted. There's no better feeling of literally peace of mind than going, I know I'm legally covered, I know what I'm doing is good, I can put my head on my pillow, knowing that there are no crazy loopholes, and I'm not doing anything wrong. And our business is here for a long time and we're protected. So just get your head around doing it make it happen. And if you think oh, it's going to cost so much money, or oh, it's going to take so much time, you actually don't know that. So I would reach out manifest. You know, like, I think we only worked together a little bit in the beginning, until I was like, in the future Tracy, I want to do this. And then I want to do this. And as my business grew, and my income grew, and my ability to create wealth grew that I was able to do more. And so it is possible, but you have to get it into action. So stop waiting, you don't want to wait for a horrible thing to happen or somebody to be a jerk and, and fight you or get a refund or some mess to come to Tracy with a mess, come to Tracy clean, preventing the mess. She's lovely. And she really gets you and and you work with some of the most inspiring and amazing women. And so I know that you also get me because you see it in all the other women you represent. And so it's not like you're a beginner and you don't understand this stuff. You have such great ideas that we never thought of that you've given me for my programme or things that we need to implement that have protected us that I would have never known how to not work through with you. So stop waiting. Make it happen. Tracy is amazing. And she's a beautiful soul. And we just love her.
