In this season I’m going to be bringing on some incredible guests to share their tips and tricks in business. I’m so enthusiastic to introduce you to today’s guest, Clare Wood, someone who I’ve been lucky enough to work with in both a client and coaching capacity.

Clare is a Money Mentor and has been instrumental in my business growth and business journey. Offering private coaching and numerous courses and memberships, Clare helps business owners uncover the stories they have around money and shift their thinking to move past those barriers into greater success.

In this episode, Clare and I talk about the immense benefits of coaching and how working on your mindset extends well beyond business into all areas of your life. I have certainly found this to be the case and cannot speak highly enough about my experience in working with Clare.

We also talk about Clare’s experience as my client and the relief she felt when her legals were properly put together and personalised to suit her business. Having seen many of her clients in trouble, she reiterates the sentiment that prevention is better than cure.

Towards the end, Clare shares the best and worst advice she has received in business, some lessons she has learned along the way and what advice she would give to her younger self first starting out.

TOPICS DISCUSSED AND WHERE TO FIND THEM:

[2:25]: Clare’s work as a Money Mentor is to help people uncover what their stories are around money and shift them.

[3:55]: When you start looking into Mindset work, you see how much it extends well beyond business and into other areas of your life. Clare’s podcast is an excellent resource for this.

[4:55]: Clare is a big believer in contracts and, as her business has changed, she engaged a lawyer to update her legals but they weren’t done correctly. This is when she came to Tracey and felt a sense of relief that they would be done properly. The downfall of trying to take shortcuts.

[7:45]: Tracey adds a personal touch to her legals which Clare really liked but unfortunately many lawyers just use a template. There’s something energetically special when you are proud of what you do.

[10:45]: When businesses don’t have proper legal terms, it makes them seem less professional. Tracey took the time to answer every question about Clare’s terms, which doesn’t seem to be the case with all lawyers.

[13:20]: People think things won’t happen to them but conflict in business does occur. Prevention is better than cure.

[14:50]: The best business advice Clare has received is to be patient. It’s not a short term game so keep on going.

[15:30]: The worst business advice she received was from herself and it was to try to not spend money on anything. She realised this was short sighted and wishes she had invested more in the early stages.

[16:40]: How Clare wishes she had started her business sooner and taken the leap earlier. When you find the thing you’re passionate about, happiness and impact is where you’ll find the long term fulfillment.

[17:55]: Where to find Clare.
