I have been waiting for this episode.

I am thrilled to be talking with the amazing Lisa Turner, the director from Accounted For You. She is my very own remarkable bookkeeper and I’ve been absolutely dying to share her with you.

I first met Lisa when I worked on the legals, terms and conditions, and employee contracts in her business and she was so magnificent I had to make her a part of my team.

Lisa lifts the pressure off my shoulders so I can focus on running my business and avoid spending countless hours reading over figures. Her bookkeeping practice is unique, it goes above and beyond to interpret all of your numbers to analyze the way your business is going and presents them in an easy to understand format.

In this episode, we explore the points of difference that make Accounted For You stand out from other bookkeeping practices. Lisa discusses her VIP add-on and her new course launching next month that provides the foundation for success in your business, ‘Power in Numbers’.

Lisa’s passion is working with female entrepreneurs to flourish in their business and have peace of mind knowing that all of their bookkeeping is sorted by the best.

We discuss her initial reservations when hiring a lawyer and embarking on the difficult journey of changing her business structure from a sole trader to a corporate entity.

Lisa peppers our conversation with hot tips that I recommend every entrepreneur should take on board to running a smooth and successful business.

As always, we finish up by talking about the best and worst business advice she has received, and the guidance she would give to her younger self now.

TOPICS DISCUSSED AND WHERE TO FIND THEM:

[1:59]: Lisa is the director of her bookkeeping practice. The flexibility to build her company around her family and providing support to other Mums in business really drives her.

[2:42]: Her bookkeeping practice goes above and beyond to interpret your numbers and analyze your data.

[3:46]: Lisa has recently introduced a new VIP add-on. It’s a custom video that explores your numbers with a presentation in a graph or pie chart format. She then analyzes the data and lets you know how you’re going in all areas of your business.

[5:22]: I can not recommend this video enough!

[5:49]: Lisa has a new course launching next month called “Power in Numbers” that lasts for 4 weeks + extra 2 weeks for Q&A. It is the foundation for success in your business. Find it on her website.

[7:03]: I helped Lisa with her legals, terms and conditions, and put together her employee contracts. Lisa had past reservations working with lawyers but I was able to change her mind and we have built such a wonderful working relationship.

[9:06]: Your contracts, agreements or terms and conditions don’t need to be boring and bland.

[10:29]: I began working with Lisa when she was restructuring from a sole trader to a corporate entity.

[11:18]: There is an absolute admin headache when changing business structure part way through.

[12:02]: Hot tip - Create a new Xero file for the new structure.

[12:58]: If you’ve started as a sole trader just see what happens, start thinking if this structure genuinely suits you or if you would benefit from starting the corporate entity.

[13:46]: The best business advice Lisa has received is just say ‘yes’ and work it out later.

[14:13]: Lisa researches all advice so she can’t even remember any bad advice she has been given.

[15:00]: She would tell her younger self - get your business structure right from the start and utilize social media.

[16:15]: Where to find Lisa.
