#57 Growing your business without the overwhelm, with Angela Henderson

If you’re a business owner doing all the things and wondering how you can grow your business without the overwhelm, this is absolutely the episode for you.

My guest today is the incredible Angela Henderson, a small business coach who helps women take control, build their confidence and grow their business, all while making more quality time with the family.

This episode is jam packed with golden nuggets as we explore what business owners need to focus on to keep things simple and grow moving forward. We dive into what it takes to establish a solid business foundation, and the three components of building, nurturing and selling to your audience.

Angela shares with incredible conviction as we discuss how vital it is to connect to your audience and why we must always lead with value first.

As a coach, Angela sees a lot of clients needing to address blockages in their mindset. She shares some of the common mindset barriers she sees and why we must look inward to uncover and heal the blockages in our subconscious.

We talk about why balance is bullshit and how Angela has replaced the concept of balance with being present in each moment.

This is truly a profound episode with so much wisdom for you today. You might even need to listen again to take it all in.

TOPICS DISCUSSED AND WHERE TO FIND THEM:

[1:50]: Oftentimes, people continue to “do” but it puts them closer to burnout, which is unalignment. Overwhelm equals overcomplicated.

[3:25]: You need to build a business of foundations. Without this, things start to crack. Angela shares the analogy of the 3 little pigs.

[4:45]: Once the foundations are solidified, the 3 components are to build your audience, nurture your audience and sell to your audience. To build, you need a visibility strategy that feels right for you - Angela explains organic, partnership and paid.

[6:25]: Angela talks about nurturing your audience and that you always need to lead with value first.

[7:30]: A lot of businesses fall down in the selling phase. As a business owner, it’s your job to sell. If you have a problem with this, reframe it with serving and that you have an opportunity to serve your audience with something amazing.

[9:10]: There’s a difference between nurture and what’s going to work for you. Nurturing is organic and comes back to the core principles of connectedness. Think about how you would want to be treated as a client.

[11:00]: Angela talks about the book, “The Go Giver” where they talk about 5 different laws; value, compensation, influence, authenticity, and receptivity. When you lead with value, your people will stick around.

[12:20]: More than ever, people need connection. We’ve seen a huge rise in mental health and addictions because we’re more connected with technology but less connected with people. So when people come to you, love them like a family member.

[14:30]: There are 7 major mindset blocks that Angela has seen. Self trust, self love, worthiness, money stories, obsessive thinking, divine timing and imposter syndrome. Your external world is a direct reflection of your internal world.

[16:10]: If you’re having a hard time around selling, there is a root cause to that. Angela shares how hypnotherapy works to get to the root cause, far more than talk therapy and mindset work.

[18:20]: Angela’s zone of genius is sales, marketing and accountability. She identifies mindset blocks and then she outsources to mindset coaches, healers and hypnotherapy.

[19:20]: Angela shares why she thinks balance is bullshit and how she replaces balance with being present. You can’t have every area of life in complete balance, but you can choose to be present in each moment.
